Jim Lofgreen (Deceased Maker), Huge Pearl Handled Bowie Knife. Amazing! #L41.
This is possibly the best looking knife I have ever owned! It was made by cusom knifemaker Jim Lofgreen of Flagstaff Az. Unfortunately, Jim passed away a few years ago, so there will be no more. It has a huge 11 1/4" x 1 3/4" blade and measures 17 1/4" overall! The polish on this blade puts a mirror to shame. There is a "blood groove" near the top on either side of the blade followed by some filework prior to the ricasso. The guard is a casting, but I cannot determine the material. Possibly stainltss steel as are the bolsters and handle wrapping. The pearl handles are crack and chip free with escutcheon plates on either side. They are affixed with six stainless pins. The sheath is leather and stainless over wood with a red velvet lining. Never carried or used, but due to handling let's call it near mint... But I see NO defects (scratches, pits, etc). There are a few spots on the sheath metal, but again, nothing major. This is a monster of a knife, and is more outstanding than the photos can show. Open to reasonable offers... Ask for knife #L41.
